Inspirational Quote
A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image. ~Author Unknown
This is a quote that I have always found inspiring and very true. It is something that I have shared with my other co-workers and continue to read throughout my teaching years. It is inspirational and really creates what I want to be as a teacher.
Children's Book
A title of a children's book that I love is "A very Hungry Caterpillar." I think this is a great book that fun and interactive for students to read. It teaches them a great moral and is an interactive story that is sure to keep their attention.
Great picture of you and your husband. You look so happy together. I like your Inspirational Quote I will keep it in mind everyday when I am teaching and developing my preschool children.I think every teacher loves the book "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" it is one of my favorite to.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is also "A Very Hungry Caterpillar". I love that teachers can read the story to children and children will be so into the story. Children will then recite the story later by themselves with or without the book.
ReplyDeleteThe book "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" is also one of my favorites. I have finger puppets that go along with the book. The children love to make sound effects for the puppet as it's eating its way through the book.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your quote, I now have a new "loved" quote. I can absolutely agree with the concept of this author's thinking. We as professionals are suppose to teach with a free and clear mind, and to be careful not to include any of our own prejudice that may persuade a child's way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we can educate the children while providing them with only the necessary tools and resources, then the child should be able to use that and create their own thoughts.
Excellent choice,
Sherrell
I remember the book, "A Very Hungry Caterpillar". This was a book that Mrs. Frye, a third grade teacher, loved to read to her students. This book taught about learning from our own mistakes. When the caterpillar finally learns from his mistake of overindulging, he grows into a radiant butterfly.
ReplyDeleteI like making flannel board pieces, to go along with the story. The pieces makes the story come alive! It also helps keep the attention, of the early three year olds.
